INTRODUCING 50K AND 100K INDIVIDUAL RACES – MARCH 26, 2011

South Florida’s first 50k (31 mile) and 100k (62 mile) ultras along this beautiful course will complement the annual six runner 100 mile team relay race from Fort Lauderdale Beach to West Palm Beach and back. The 50 kilometer race will start at Ocean Inlet Park at the Boynton Beach Inlet to the Atlantic Ocean in Ocean Ridge, FL. Competitors will run due south to the finish line at A1A and Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Free transportation will be provided for 50k runners from Fort Lauderdale to the 11:00 AM start.

The 100 kilometer race begins at 6:10 AM at the beach in Fort Lauderdale. Runners head north for 31 miles to the turn-around at Ocean Inlet Park, then reverse course for the return to the finish line at A1A and Las Olas. Both individual races are fully supported with aid stations every 3-5 miles. Chip timing will be used for all three races in 2011.

Check all the details and register at the newly re-designed race website, www.palm100.com. Updated race maps will be posted at a later date.
